Mr. Vincent Aurez is an economist, consultant and associate expert of the French Institute of Circular Economy, who authored two books and 15 publications on the circular economy. He recently co-authored two reports on the circular economy in the tire industry, about the socio-economic impact of truck tyre retreading in Europe, and about tread depth regulations and the topic of planned obsolescence. In 2013, Vincent has been appointed as the main Rapporteur for the Mission on Circular Economy and Cooperation at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2015. He intervened in the preparation of the COP-21 and the COP-22 to implement the circular economy as a low carbon development tool. He is regularly invited to chair conferences on the topic, and accompany foreign trade delegations to France. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the R2Pi European Union research project, which aims to design 'Circular Economy Policy Packages' supporting the transition towards systemic and widely applicable circularity throughout the value chain, in order to promote a resource efficient economy and society. Mr. Aurez is currently based in Paris, and has worked in China, Ecuador, and Madagascar.Vincent holds a dual Master’s degree in Environmental Policy, and Sustainable Development and International Relations from Sciences Po. Paris and Peking University.
