Dr. K. U. Thomas

Dr. K.U Thomas has retired as the Joint Director of Latex Harvesting Technology, Rubber Research Institute of India with more than 31 years of applied and field oriented research experience mainly in the field of Latex Harvest Technology. He has good experience in plant water relations of rubber and has developed a rapid and easy method to determine water potential of rubber plants. He has also developed and recommended totally degradable polythene for rainguarding rubber trees. He has presented good number of research papers and talks in international and national seminar as well as conferences mostly in the field of Latex Harvest Technology. After retirement, he is very active at national and international level in rubber consultancy with special emphasis to optimum crop harvesting at lowest cost of production and ensuring longest economic life. Dr. K.U Thomas holds Master of Science (M.sc) and Doctorate (Ph.D) degree in Plant Physiology from the Department of Biosciences, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, India.
