YBhg.Dato’ Professor Makhdzir Mardan

Makhdzir Mardan was born in 1953 from Muar, Johore and was educated and graduated with Diploma in agriculture from UPM Serdang in 1974. He obtained his Bachelor in Plant Protection (1976) and Masters in Entomology (1779) from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana USA. He joined UPM as an academic staff in 1979 and earned his full professorship in 2001 and earned his professor emeritus in 2013. He obtained his Ph. D from Univ of Guelph, Canada (1988) in apiculture. He was the president of Ecological Society of Malaysia (90-93) and currently Vice President of the Asian Apicultural Association since 1993. His many involvement in bee research, multimedia and oil palm spanned more than 15 years as administrator as Director of Institute of Multimedia, UPM (97-02); Deputy Vice Chancellor of UPM (03-06); CEO of Malaysian Palm Oil Association (13-16); and currently as Deputy Executive Director of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries based in Jakarta.
